Who is Josh Folsom in CSI: Vegas?
Shaft and Kingdom star Matt Lauria has played the role of Joshua "Josh" Folsom in the CSI: Vegas series since its first season in 2021.
Folsom is a key member of the CSI team, in which he is usually assigned as the lead investigator on their cases.
While Lauria is starring as one of the main protagonists of the series, fans are worried that he may be written off the show permanently. But is this true or simply a hoax fans are concerned about?
Folsom's Fate Remains Unclear and Undecided
Let's not forget that back in May 2023, the Josh Folsom actor shared with CBR his initial reaction to being "written off the show as a murderer".
Lauria revealed that he started thinking about his future as an actor and as a part of the CSI franchise. He even joked to himself, "Well, don't piss anybody off because this is open-ended."
See, the CSI: Vegas season 2 finale titled Dying Words had Josh Folsom arrested for murder, which left fans thinking this may be the show's way of writing him off.
However, in all honesty, as Lauria said, "There's a lot of creative trust and admiration between the two of us."
Lauria explained he would be there for the CSI: Vegas showrunner Jason Tracey for "whatever story he devises" with his "whole heart and soul".
So, is it possible we'll be seeing the last of Folsom on CSI: Vegas? Well, not exactly no.

Is Josh Folsom Leaving CSI: Vegas? Fans Don't Think So
Considering that Josh Folsom is considered one of (if not "the best") characters in the show, fans are still in disbelief that someone like him would be convicted of murder.
According to one comment from Reddit, the CSI: Vegas season 2 finale was a "lousy way" to write him off the show, and they find it "hard to believe Folsom is guilty of murder."
Another commenter added that the cliffhanger from season 2 feels as though season 3's storyline has "lost its momentum".
However, fans' best guess is that "[Josh Folsom] is being framed for murder" and that season 3 will "focus on clearing his name".
As the actor also said on TV Insider, the ending is "definitely open to interpretation."
Not to mention, Lauria himself assured on CBR that "I've been assured by the writers that I will be back for [CSI: Vegas] season 3." So, there you go. For now, we'll still be watching him go on CSI: Vegas' recent season.
We'll have to watch and see once more CSI: Vegas season 3 episodes get released on Paramount+.
