Being one of the fan favorites in Physical: 100, viewers are curious to know more about the legendary MMA fighter Choo Sung Hoon.
Surprisingly, it turned out that the 47-year-old athlete is connected to the iconic K-drama Fight for My Way which stars Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won.
Fight for My Way is Based on Choo Sung Hoon and his Wife’s Love Story
Helmed by Lee Na Jung of Love Alarm and Kim Dong Hwi of The Tale of Nokdu, Fight for My Way depicts the story of a former taekwondo player named Ko Dong man, who was once famous in his field but had to give up his dream because of a devastating past.
He becomes a nameless MMA fighter but falls in love with his long-time best friend, Choi Ae Ra.
In a report cited by Koreaboo, screenwriter Lim Sang Chun was inspired by the love story of Choo Sung Hoon and his wife, Shiho Yano.

The writer said that what inspired her to create Fight for My Way is Shiho’s emotion for Choo Sung Hoon every time he goes to the ring.
“I heard stories of how difficult it was for fighters’ families to watch their fights, and I just felt so sad,” the screenwriter said, as obtained by the media outlet.
As for Lim Sang Chun, she wanted to give the public a perception of what it's like to be an athlete, particularly MMA fighters who looked tough on the outside and may appear as though all they care about is drinking, fight matches, and women but has a warm personality on the inside.
“Since they have to focus on their health, I learned that they live like Buddhist monks, so I wanted to help get rid of that misconception,” the writer added.
Choo Sung Hoon After Physical: 100
The Japanese Korean 47-year-old athlete gained fans outside the sports industry after he joined the Netflix survival game.
Although he failed to win the title, Choo Sung Hoon is well love by viewers due to his determination and leadership.
Months after the show concluded, the legendary athlete is quite active on Instagram, updating fans with his activities.
He is busy with his fashion brand Sung 1975 as well as his endorsements.
