As a part of the Viltrumite race, Lucan is a supporting antagonist introduced in Invincible Season 2.

While he may not have been as strongly present as the rest of his race's strongest warriors, he remained a prominent figure during the Viltrumite War.

He was involved in the plan to impregnate as many women on Earth as possible, that is until he fell in love with one of the humans himself.

He seeks to save his people from extinction, but most notably, to kill Invincible and Omni-Man as two of the most intimidating threats that could destroy their invasion plans.

Despite Omni-Man and Invincible being led to believe they had already killed him, the mid-season finale had Lucan gracing back with a strong kick, breaking Omni-Man's spine.

As he held his guts in his arms, Lucan said, "The next time you kill somebody, make sure they're dead. It's done."

Thanks to his brilliant performance in a short span of time, many fans wondered why Lucan's voice sounded familiar in Invincible.

Fans of early 2000s cartoons might be able to recognize the voice actor Phil LaMarr, who is best known for voicing John Stewart aka the Green Lantern in the Justice League series and Samurai Jack in the other titular Cartoon Network show.

Over the years, LaMarr's voice career expanded through roles such as Kotel Kahn from Mortal Kombat X, Aquaman in Young Justice, Kit Fisto from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and even Wilt from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

Let's just say LaMarr isn't new to the whole superhero business, considering he's played both the hero and villain throughout his career. Now, he serves as the voice of Lucan in Invincible.

It remains to be seen if Lucan will get to return in Invincible Season 2, however, since the series is taking a short break before continuing in 2024, the comic book and show creator Robert Kirkman told TechRadar:

"We're still putting the final polish on the last four episodes. So it made sense, scheduling-wise, to take a break over the holidays. We also realized that there's a really strong narrative break [between episodes 4 and 5] that makes Season 2 feel like two completely different seasons, and it gives us a lot of opportunity to build anticipation for episode 5."
