Spider-Man star James Franco has been keeping things lowkey in his personal and professional life for a number of years now following a 2018 sexual misconduct accusation. The actor has previously denied the claims from several women who came out and exposed Franco's behavior, one of which is an underage girl whom he allegedly invited to a New York hotel in 2014.
The allegations have not only tainted the actor's stellar acting career but also his working relationship and friendship with Seth Rogen. The two have been good friends for a long time and have collaborated on a number of projects but the Invincible star has apparently cut ties with the former Marvel actor after the issue blew up. At one point, Rogen was even labeled as Franco's enabler, a claim which he quickly denied during a conversation with The Times.
Initially, Seth came to the defense of James when the allegations surfaced but according to him, he regrets even trying to defend the actor, even taking back his 2018 comment that he would continue working with him. "And I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I commented that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now," he said.
Regarding the "enabler" accusations, Rogen had this to say: "What I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that."
Franco has yet to respond to Rogen's latest statement and understandably so considering he's been avoiding the limelight for quite some time now. It's worth noting that the allegations have not been proven but if they turn out to be true, it's going to spell huge disaster for the New Goblin actor and it's safe to say that he's pretty much done in the entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, James Franco's Spider-Man co-star Tobey Maguire is rumored to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
