Instagram Took Down Thor Director Taika Waititi’s Oscar Photo

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi has been having quite a great start this year. The New Zealand filmmaker previously known for his indie movies like What We Do in the Shadows and The Hunt for the Wilderpeople was just recently awarded for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 92nd Academy Awards for his comedy drama Jojo Rabbit, and Waititi has been celebrating on social media.

Taking to Instagram last week, Waititi decided to share a hilarious photo of himself together with the love of his life – his Oscar. However, it seems like the photo was taken down. Returning to the social media platform again, Waititi decided to re-share the "vulgar" photo, saying that he doesn't understand why the site had to take the picture down.

"Instagram took this picture down because... Umm... Well... the thing is.. Ok I have no idea. It's a picture of me holding a picture of me. And no, that's not my crotch," Waititi wrote on his post.

Check out the picture down here:

We do have to admit that the picture is a little bit racy, but it's all for the laughs really. Celebrities couldn't help but react to the post. Marvel stars like Guardians of the Galaxy actress Pom Klementieff gave the picture a series of teary-eyed laughter emojis, while Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds couldn't help but jokingly call out Waititi for being "vulgar."

Waititi really is a delight. The director is set to return to Marvel to direct Thor: Love and Thunder which is set to premiere on November 5, 2021.
