Insiders are Calling James Gunn's The Suicide Squad His 'Masterpiece'

A lot of people were upset that James Gunn was temporarily fired from directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but if that didn't happen, he probably wouldn't have been able to take on DC's The Suicide Squad. Just in, insiders are hyping up the movie and are saying it's one of Gunn's best work.

This comes from insider Daniel Richtman:

We don't have any more details besides that, but I want to approach the movie with some optimism. While I still want to see David Ayer's original cut of Suicide Squad, I'm hoping that Gunn has managed to make his own tone for the characters. I'm just hoping he's managed to set this one aside from Guardians of the Galaxy and not just be an R-Rated version with DC characters.

DC FanDome has given us a great sneak peek at The Suicide Squad, but we don't know when we're going to get our first teaser. With the movie set to come out later in 2021, it's likely we'll have to wait for our first preview next year as well. In the meantime, DC still has a lot of other stuff to market including Zack Snyder's Justice League and The Batman.

The Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.
