Incredibles 2 just keeps winning.
The film might still be 3.7 weeks in as it continues its theatrical run, but it looks like the sequel to Brad Bird's groundbreaking animated superhero movie is already breaking records at the domestic box office.
Not only has the film been able to move past the original Incredible's $633 million global haul with its $718.1 million total, but it looks like the film has managed to beat Finding Dory at the domestic box office with its $504.38 million gross, becoming the highest-grossing animated film in North America.
The film has also managed to pass the PG-Rated Beauty and the Beast's $504 million at the domestic box office. Though we're still not sure whether or not The Incredibles 2 could beat the massive $1.27 billion global haul of Disney's Frozen, the Pixar movie still has a lot of time to try.
The Incredibles 2 has been performing pretty well since its release last month, earning a lot of great reviews from fans and critics. Of course, the film's success doesn't come as much of a surprise. After 14 long years of waiting for an Incredibles sequel, there was certainly a lot of anticipation building up over The Incredibles 2 before it made its big premiere last month. Besides, director Brad Bird definitely knows how to write a good story.
The Incredibles 2 is currently screening in cinemas.
