Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to dive into the wonders and intrigue of the multiverse and if rumors circulating online are to be believed, the MCU could feature alternate versions of our favorite Marvel heroes and villains from different earths and timelines. Now, former Bruce Banner actor Eric Bana, who starred in the equally goofy and atrocious 2003 standalone Hulk film is sounding off on the possibility of him taking on the role in a potential MCU project.

In a recent appearance on Jakes' Takes, Bana was asked about a potential cameo appearance in the billion-dollar franchise now that the multiverse is coming into play but it's quite evident that he no longer wants to be associated with Marvel and understandably so. Bana explains that he's always treated the project as something that existed in its own universe and he that he never thought of it spawning a sequel.

The actor explains: "When I went and did that film, that was kind of like pre-Marvel Universe. That universe didn't even really exist, so it always felt like a one-time film for me. That world of you go off and do a movie, and there are going to be sequels, that framework didn't even exist back then. I guess the short answer is no. I never felt like that was something that I was going to reprise or do again. After all this time, I can't see that happening."

Considering how awful his version of the Hulk was, I totally get his skepticism about possibly taking on the role again. And even though Marvel Studios would do a terrific job with Bana's Green Giant, the bitter taste the 2003 film left in our mouths especially the actor's is just too intense to actually forget. And it's not like Eric has redemption in mind and quite frankly, there's no need for him to redeem himself.

Speaking of the multiverse, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits cinemas in March 2022.
