What Makes Ichigo So Powerful?
Before we tackle the “how,” it is important to address what makes Ichigo one of the most powerful characters in the Bleach universe.
Ichigo is Isshin Kurosaki and Masaki Kurosaki’s son. Interestingly, Isshin was half Soul Reaper and half-human, and Masaki was half Hollow and half Quincy.
As a result, Ichigo has inherited characteristics from each of these distinct categories.
He has manifested his latent Quincy powers, which have only recently been seen in the series.
At the beginning of the series, his dormant Soul Reaper capabilities were unlocked by Rukia, which enriched his complex lineage.
So, Ichigo possesses the ability to harness the powers of almost every faction or spirit race featured in Bleach.
So, How Powerful Is Ichigo Kurosaki?
Ichigo is remarkably powerful and he has showcased the same in every arc of the series.
However, in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, his training at the Royal Palace really transformed him into a new and improved Ichigo.
After his training, it is revealed that Ichigo could attain extraordinary highspeed when he came down to Earth from the Royal Palace.
He managed to enhance his speed further by propelling himself through the air.
When he arrived at the battlefield, he was up against the Bambies and they could not decipher Ichigo’s powerful and swift moves.
Due to his immense power and skill, Ichigo could draw Getsuga Tenshou by just slicing the sky with his Quincy sword and leaving a trace of Getsuga in the air.
Ichigo’s new ability, Getsuga Jujisho, when unleashed in all its glory, is a visual spectacle that's devastating for the opponent.
Now, coming to his Bankai, Ichigo did not pay much attention to his Bankai in the Arrancar arc.
But Tite Kubo ensures that when he faces his most powerful opponent, Yhwach, Ichigo activates his True Bankai and uses it to its full potential.
However, it is important to note that Ichigo doesn’t really showcase his strength in its entirety until he faces Yhwach in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc.
It is likely that it is part of Kubo’s buildup before Ichigo goes all out in the direst of situations, which is fighting against Yhwach.
