Gurren Lagann is getting a lot of love again as it was screened in US cinemas for a limited time. With discussions about the show seeing a resurgence, there are likely questions again about how old Yoko is in Gurren Lagann.
As one of the main characters, Yoko Littner is a favorite of many fans thanks to her impressive marksmanship abilities and her eye-catching looks.
There is no question about her abilities, but Yoko’s age continues to be on many fans’ minds, especially as the answer isn’t as clear compared with the other characters.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is an iconic anime of the 2000s by Gainax, the studio behind Evangelion.
This series is linked more to Trigger (of Delicious in Dungeon fame) though, as this studio was made by former Gainax folks, including many staff members who worked on Gurren Lagann.
The original anime follows Simon, a digger from Giha village who is 14 years old at the start of the series. After a timeskip, the story returns to Simon’s point of view as a 21-year-old.
Meanwhile, Simon’s older brother figure, Kamina, has no definitive age, though most fans believe that he is around 18 years old, give or take a couple of years.

How Old Is Yoko Littner in Gurren Lagann?
Simon seems to be the only character with a confirmed age, as even Yoko Littner does not have a clear age.
Based on the show’s official character page, Yoko is said to be around the same as Simon.
If her age is exactly the same as Simon's, then Yoko is presumably 14 years old as well.
Many fans believe this to be the case. Thus, Yoko is also considered by many to be 21 years old after the anime’s timeskip.
In the finale, Yoko is shown as a middle-aged woman, likely in her 30s or 40s. During this time, Yoko became the principal of a school.
Of course, there is continued debate about her age as some interpret Yoko as being around Simon’s age a bit differently.

Fans Continue to Debate About Yoko Littner’s Real Age
As Simon clearly looks 14 at the start of the series, some fans believe that Yoko is a bit older than him, with some believing that she’s 16 years old during the initial arc.
There is merit to this argument as Yoko doesn’t look as young as Simon. Again, as there’s no clear answer, the debate about her age will likely continue.
Despite this, it should be safe to say that Yoko Littner is between the ages of 14 and 16 before the timeskip.
