After a season with such titles as Mushoku Tensei and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime this is a show with a female protagonist who is transported rather than reincarnated. But how many episodes in Season 1 of The Saint's Magical Power is Omnipotent going to have?
First, a little overview: The Saint's Magical Power is Omnipotent follows Sei, who starts off as an office worker, only to be transported in a magical world five minutes into Episode 1. It's revealed that Sei was summoned as part of a ritual. Those who called her wanted a saint to help them with their troubles… but there's a twist. Apart from the fact that Sei is not a saint, another girl has been summoned alongside her.
It turns out that everyone prefers the other girl to Sei, but that's fine by her. Soon enough, she discovers her talent in making potions with newfound powers – much more interesting than office work. But when Sei uses said potions to save a life, her supposed sainthood comes back to haunt her. Can she really settle for a quiet life?
According to the big anime database MyAnimeList, Season 1 of The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent is going to have a total of 12 episodes. This means that it won't stretch after Spring 2021. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean anything about future content.
As is the case with many Isekai shows, The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent is based on a light novel series and its subsequent manga. Both are currently ongoing, with the former counting seven and the latter six volumes. It remains to be seen how fast-paced the anime will be and how much it will adapt. But since the available volumes aren't that many, 12 episodes feels like a good, cautious number.
So far, The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent has not been the best-received anime of the season, but we're relatively early into it. Ultimately, whether or not new content will follow in the future will also depend on its reception by the 12th episode.
