Higan’s Real Face vs. His Disguised Face
In the pilot episode of Ninja Kamui, Joe Logan, now known as Higan, looked like an ordinary American guy with blonde hair, a greenish pair of eyes, and a beard.
The same can be said for his beautiful wife, Sara (Mari), and his cheerful child, Kyle (Ren).
At a glance, the Logan family is similar to any family living in rural America. They have a peaceful life, with the three of them getting groceries together, having barbecues, and just having fun.
But then, a group of murderous assassins ambushed Joe and his family, which ultimately revealed their hidden secrets.
As it turns out, the Logan family doesn’t exist at all. Their names are not part of the registry, and their origins are unknown.
What’s even more surprising is that Joe Logan’s face is not his real face, as is the case with his family.
Joe and his family are actually from Japan, and they aren’t American but rather of Asian ethnicity.
Higan has dark blue hair and a pair of striking red eyes, contrary to his disguised face.
His identity and facial features as Joe Logan are the perfect disguise, but unfortunately, he can’t escape his fate in the cruel world of Ninja Kamui.
So, How Can Higan Change His Face in Ninja Kamui?
Ninja Kamui episode 2 reveals the reason Higan can change his face in the series. Higan’s wife, Sara, developed a masking system or face-changing technology that can hide their true identities from their enemies.
This masking system is in the form of button-like steel material that, when activated, will allow someone to change their entire face.
It was not only Higan’s family who used this technology but also the cunning old man who treated Higan’s injuries.
Not much is known about its construction, but it kept Higan’s family safe for quite a while.
However, the assassins were still able to identify Higan and his family despite this ground-breaking technology.
Many are speculating that the global corporation, AUZA, has something to do with it.
For now, nothing has been confirmed, but fans may find out more as new episodes of Ninja Kamui are released weekly on Adult Swim and MAX.
