House of the Dragon Episode 8: Helaena Possibly Predicted Her Own Terrifying Fate

House of the Dragon Episode 8 is already turning out to be one of the most talked-about episodes so far and there's a good reason for that. The Lord of the Tides featured the first major clash between the Greens and the Blacks where the latter emerged victorious. In addition to that, Helaena Targaryen dropped another ominous prophecy and this time, it might be referring to her own terrifying fate!

In House of the Dragon Episode 8, everyone gathered at the Red Keep to listen to Vaemond Velaryon's petition to be named the next Lord of the Tides after his brother Corlys Velaryon sustains a serious injury during the war on the Stepstones. Although Alicent and Otto Hightower were ready to take Vaemond's side on the argument that Lucerys Velaryon is a bastard, King Viserys I Targaryen rises from his bed and joins the gathering to name his grandson as the heir of Driftmark.

After the deadly petition where Vaemond was decapitated for treason, the Targaryens gathered for supper with the king. They toast each other after Viserys begs for the families to get along, and Helaena Targaryen toasts her cousins Baela and Rhaena Targaryen who will be wed to Jacaerys and Lucerys Velaryon, respectively.

But before the toast, Helaena actually says something right after Jacaerys toasts her husband brother Aegon II Targaryen. "Beware the beast beneath the boards," the princess seemingly says to herself.

It's a dark prophecy and one that has Fire and Blood fans worried about Helaena Targaryen. The line seems to refer to the Blood and Cheese incident that terrorizes Helaena for the rest of her life.

The latest episode of House of the Dragon is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 9 is titled The Green Council and is set to premiere on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
