We meet Hong Cha in the second episode of Chicken Nugget. She is introduced by Ko Baek-Joong (played by Ahn Jae-Hong) as he and Choi Sun-Man (played by Ryu Seung-Ryong) struggle to pick up the chicken nugget pieces that have fallen to the ground.

As the two grown men cry with the thought that the little girl bit from the chicken nugget that could have been Choi Min-A (played by Kim You-Jung), Hong Cha (played by Jung Ho-Yeon) steps into the scene.

She proudly tells Mr. Choi "That's not your daughter."

In the next episode, Baek-Joong explains who she is to his boss. He shares that Hong Cha is the blogger that he mentioned in the previous episode. Hong Cha is also introduced as "the best food columnist in Korea."

Hong Cha approaches Baek-Joong and pinches his stomach, asking why he has abs now.

It turns out that they previously dated and had broken up three years ago against Hong Cha's wishes.

During their conversation, Hong Cha admits that she was still in love with Baek-Joong and referred to him as "the most perfect-looking guy in the whole world."

She also told him that she loved that his "fingers were like fatty pork intestines, dark red lips resembled duck gizzards, and your belly fat bulged over your belt like an oversized hamburger."

So why did they break up?

Since Hong Cha is a dedicated food columnist, she found some of his preferences for certain foods offensive.

She felt that he deliberately ordered mint chocolate, preferred Tangsuyuk without sauce, and even brought her to a restaurant that served pineapple on pizza.

Baek-Joong decided to break up with her because she was "so uptight" and did not "understand diversity."
