Honest Trailers: Shazam! is Not as Kid-Friendly as You Think

DCEU’s Shazam! has finally hit home video, and Screen Junkies has released their Honest Trailer take on the World’s Mightiest Mortal.

From the studio that’s gone from doom and gloom to fins and grins comes a fun-filled ride for the kid inside everyone. Just maybe not actual kids.

With the DCEU down after Justice League, it’s now gearing up for a comeback. Sure Aquaman wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t completely terrible either. Add to that a solid addition with Shazam!, and it looks like DC is slowly gaining back its footing.

For now, fans aren’t too keen to say that it’s back though. Everyone is still waiting on how Joker, Birds of Prey, and Wonder Woman 1984 turn out. If it’s any consolation, test screenings have been going well, and it’s been said that the studio has been doing a lot less meddling—which was the problem of the earlier films since Batman v Superman.

Going back to Shazam! though, a sequel is already in the works with Mister Mind possibly being the main villain. A lot of fans are waiting on a clash with the Rock’s Black Adam, but Zachary Levi himself has said that we’ll have to wait until the third film to get the all-out bout between Billy Batson and his archenemy.

We all have a superhero inside of us -- it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In 14-year-old Billy Batson's case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam. Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in the new version of himself by doing what any other teen would do -- have fun while testing out his newfound powers. But he'll need to master them quickly before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Shazam's magical abilities.

Shazam! is now available on digital and Blu-ray.
