Following the film’s announcement earlier this year, Rohan at the Louvre has finally been released in cinemas last week. And to celebrate, series creator Hirohiko Araki shared a special Rohan at the Louvre illustration that recreates the original manga’s iconic cover.

The new illustration was shared by Araki on his official Twitter account. Though this isn’t just limited to Twitter, as prints of the illustration will be given to fans who watch the new movie in cinemas.

While it may seem like the film has already been released for a while now, the Rohan at the Louvre live-action movie was only released in Japanese theaters on May 26, 2023.

This new film is a movie spin-off of the NHK live-action series Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe, which itself is based on Araki’s spin-off manga series. The live-action show’s cast also returns for the film.

Fans of JoJo should be familiar with this spin-off. After all, aside from the manga being popular among fans, it also got an OVA adaptation by David Production, the same studio behind the main JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime.

Rohan at the Louvre is a one-shot that’s often considered to be part of the Rohan Kishibe series, but it’s special as it was exhibited at the Louvre back in 2009.

Since then, the one-shot has been released in Japan and internationally, though it hasn’t been adapted into anime yet.

This means the new film is the first adaptation of the one-shot, and it’s a must-watch for fans of the series, especially as it’s shot on location in the prestigious Louvre Museum.

While Araki may be busy with The JOJOLands currently, that hasn’t stopped him from sharing a new illustration to celebrate the Rohan at the Louvre film’s Japanese theatrical release.

The new visual recreates the one-shot’s original cover. Though it is changed quite a bit as Rohan’s outfit is changed to match the look of his live-action version.

As mentioned, fans who attend screenings of the movie will get prints of this special illustration beginning July 2. Though it wasn’t mentioned how long this freebie will be available to fans.

Right now, there’s no word yet on whether Rohan at the Louvre will be screened in cinemas outside Japan.
