HIDIVE has been one of the go-to anime streaming platforms for many fans worldwide, but this might end soon. That’s because HIDIVE is closing in select countries outside of North America this December.
The changes to the platform’s availability were addressed via an update shared on the HIDIVE Support page. Not many details were shared, but the update confirmed the service will become unavailable in some regions.
Soon after this update, HIDIVE users on X (formerly Twitter) shared that they’ve gotten emails from HIDIVE about the impending changes.
HIDIVE Closing in Certain Countries Outside North America
HIDIVE was launched back in 2017, and it has since become one of the most popular streaming platforms for anime.
Its lineup may not be as big as other platforms, but the service features exclusive shows that make it a must-have for fans. These include titles like Oshi no Ko, The Dangers in My Heart, and The Eminence in Shadow.
The US market is what HIDIVE mainly serves, but the platform has been available in select countries in Europe and Latin America. Sadly, fans outside the US may get their access cut soon.
Several posts on X by HIDIVE subscribers revealed that the platform will end its service in select countries outside North America beginning next month.
This was confirmed on HIDIVE’s Support page which stated that “the service will no longer be available in certain areas outside of North America” beginning December 12, 2023.
Many HIDIVE subscribers were unhappy with this decision, especially as it would limit fans in affected regions from watching HIDIVE-exclusive titles, especially as there aren’t many details about the platform’s closure.

HIDIVE: Which Countries Will Lose Access to the Service?
HIDIVE has yet to reveal the countries that will be affected by the change. Based on user reports on X though, it seems that users in some European and LATAM countries have gotten the notice.
There are even reports of users in Puerto Rico getting the email. This is despite Puerto Rico being a US Territory. This might mean HIDIVE will soon only be available in the continental US and Canada.
It’s not clear yet how many countries HIDIVE will be available in moving forward. After all, users in the UK did not seem to have gotten the same notice that users in other countries got.
If that’s the case, it’s also possible that HIDIVE will only be available in English-speaking countries beginning in December.
