The Spring anime season officially begins this weekend. Ahead of the new season’s start, streaming platform HIDIVE revealed its complete Spring 2023 anime lineup, featuring several highly anticipated titles.

While most anime fans probably think of Crunchyroll or Funimation first when anime streaming services are brought up, HIDIVE is another big platform as it’s the streaming home of other shows that may be a bit under the radar for some fans.

But this season, two big titles are sure to draw many fans’ attention.

Oshi no Ko, Insomniacs After School Headline HIDIVE Spring 23 Lineup

Perhaps the biggest highlight of the HIDIVE lineup is Oshi no Ko, the upcoming mystery-drama anime that’s based on the manga of the same name by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).

Aside from its interesting idol industry premise, the anime also features several popular voice actors, including Rie Takahashi (Megumin in KonoSuba) as Ai Hoshino and Megumi Han (Gon in Hunter x Hunter) as Kana Arima.

The next highlight anime is Insomniacs After School, a promising slice-of-life school romance series that’s based on the renowned manga of the same name.

While most school anime shows are rom-coms, this one is a bit more subdued yet still touching.

It also has a unique premise as its two main stars are insomniacs who find a safe space in their school’s abandoned observatory.

HIDIVE’s Complete Spring 23 Lineup

While the two aforementioned shows are the highlights, that’s not all there is to HIDIVE’s lineup this season. There are seven new shows, as well as a returning anime from Winter 23.

Here’s the complete HIDIVE lineup along with their release dates and times:

  • Alice Gear Aegis Expansion - April 3 at 8:00 AM
  • The Dangers in My Heart - April 1 at 2:00 PM
  • Tokyo Mew Mew New Season 2 - April 4 at 12:00 PM
  • Otaku Elf - April 7 at 2:55 PM
  • Too Cute Crisis - April 7 at 10:30 AM
  • Insomniacs After School - TBA
  • Oshi no Ko - TBA
  • Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible - May 16 at 11:30 AM (Episode 7)

Interestingly, Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible is part of the lineup, though that’s because the anime was delayed due to COVID earlier in Winter 23.

Because of this, the anime will get rebroadcast in Japan starting from the first episode. This means the seventh episode will release on HIDIVE on May 16.
