Death Stranding has been a hot topic of conversation ever since the game was announced a few years ago. While the gameplay trailer of said game left more questions than answers, the fact of the matter is that most of the story is still a mystery and we still don't know what it's about. As we wait for more trailers and a proper release date, creator Hideo Kojima may have given us a major hint on the game's release date.

Or should we say a SOLID hint? Because Kojima created Metal Gear Solid and Konami fired him for making them too much money? Haha, life sucks.

Anyway, an interview with Famitsu (via Twinfinite) had the magazine asking Kojima when the PS4 exclusive would be coming out. Kojima had a short but intriguing statement to give:

"Is 2019 the year of the Whale? Please look forward to Death Stranding!"

This is pretty vague but then again, everything about this particular game has been. We still don't know the character's names (though we know their actors) or what the story is about. It's Hideo Kojima, so the story will be both convoluted, comedic, and kind of deep in an odd way. If there is something fans can appreciate it's that this will be 100% Kojima.

Death Stranding will be a PS4 exclusive when it comes out.
