Here’s When Solo: A Star Wars Story is Leaving Netflix

It looks like Star Wars fans on Netflix have a few more months to rewatch Solo: A Star Wars Story before it leaves the streaming site for good.

According to a report by What's On Netflix, Lucasfilm's most recent Star Wars spinoff movie has three more months of streaming on Netflix before it heads to Disney+.

To the uninitiated, Netflix previously had a deal with Disney that was set between 2018 till the start of 2019. Disney movies that released during that period would arrive on Netflix for the first window and would remain in the streaming company's library for about a year and a half before heading anywhere else.

Solo: A Star Wars story is set to leave Netflix in the United States and in Canada on July 9, 2020. When Solo finally leaves the streaming giant's library, Netflix will be empty of any Star Wars content, completing Star Wars migration to Disney+.

While this might sound disappointing to Netflix subscribers, Disney has always been planning to take out all of its Star Wars and Marvel content out of Netflix once it had its own streaming site up and running. Disney+ is now home to everything Star Wars and Marvel, including the hit series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

Lucasfilm is also developing a couple of other Star Wars live-action series for Disney's streaming site like the Rogue One spinoff series Cassian Andor and the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. Star Wars fans on Netflix may have to subscribe to Disney+ as well to get exclusive Star Wars content.
