Here’s What Black Panther Star Michael B. Jordan Is Doing At Warner Brothers

Last year, word started circulating saying that Black Panther's Erik Killmonger star Michael B. Jordan would take Henry Cavill's place as the DC Extended Universe's Man of Steel. Though the rumors seemed a bit ridiculous at the time, speculation began to intensify when news came out that Jordan had signed a first-look deal with Warner Brothers.

Now, we know exactly what the Black Panther star's up to. No, Jordan is not taking Cavill's Superman cape. Instead, he's picked up the rights to adapt the African fantasy epic, Black Leopard, Red Wolf.

The Hollywood Reporter has the newest updates on Warner Brothers deal with Jordan, and according to the entertainment news publication, the Black Panther star is now set to produce an adaptation of Black Leopard, Red Wolf with his Outlier Society production company for the studio.

Described as an African version of Game of Thrones, the book written by Marlon James was just released last Tuesday. The first in a planned series titled the Dark Star Trilogy, the book Black Leopard, Red Wolf is set in a fantasy version of Africa. The book follows the story of Tracker, a mercenary hired by a slave trader to search for a kidnapped boy.

Not only do we get to see giants and witches, but we also get to meet other fantasy characters like necromancers and shapeshifters in Black Leopard, Red Wolf. Right now there isn't any word whether the project has a screenwriter or whether Jordan plans to star in the new project.

Black Leopard, Red Wolf has yet to receive a production start date but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
