Here's What Avengers: Endgame Means For Bruce Banner/The Hulk [SPOILERS]

People simply can't stop talking about Avengers: Endgame. After all, the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick just earned more than $1 billion on its opening weekend alone. However, the conclusion of Endgame also led to several questions about the characters' future. For instance, what will happen to Bruce Banner/The Hulk now?

WARNING: The following contains spoilers. If you haven't seen Avengers: Endgame yet, turn back now!

In the first few minutes of Endgame, we get to see Bruce Banner soon after Thanos snapped his fingers. He was understandably skeptical that the survivors, along with Carol Danvers, could change what happened. However, this changes when we get a five-year time leap into the future.

The new Banner has spent some time away from the Avengers and has focused on bringing balance between himself and the Hulk. The result is an amiable (and hot, if you believe several thirsty posts on social media) Professor Hulk who has merged the big green guy's body with Banner's brain.

Of course, fans have been expecting to see Professor Hulk for some time and his emergence in Endgame has been predicted several times over. However, it was also the best culmination of Banner's story arc. After all, Banner and Hulk have always been at odds with each other. To see both of them working together and accepting each other is possibly the only way it should all end.

But does this mean the end for Hulk? Is there a chance that Mark Ruffalo will reprise the role in a standalone film after Endgame? Although the idea of exploring all of Banner's personalities is something fans would like to see, there are currently no plans for it yet. Perhaps Marvel Studios will surprise us in the near future.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
