Here’s Our First Look At Paramount’s Remake Of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary

Stephen King fans are in for a treat today because it looks like the very first images from Paramount's Pet Sematary remake have just made their way online.

King's novels have seen quite a number of adaptations over the years; however, since the success of Andy Muschietti's It, Hollywood has since seen quite a spike in the number of Stephen King-related film and television projects. This includes the Pet Sematary remake, a movie by Paramount which stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and Jonh Lithgow.

Entertainment Weekly just dropped a set of new images taken from the horror movie which you can check out through the link here.

For those who aren't familiar with King's classic novel, Pet Sematary tells the story of Dr. Louis Creed (to be played by Clarke in the upcoming film) and his family who move from Chicago to the countryside in Maine. However, while the family enjoys the peace and quiet in the rural area, the Creeds soon discover a terrifying secret. The family cat killed on a highway near their farm comes back to life after being buried in a cemetery for pets, but the feline isn't the same animal the family once knew. Things start to spiral after that.

Paramount's upcoming movie follows the book closely, though one important aspect of the movie is the appearance of Lithgow. The actor once gave a memorable performance as Jud Crandall in the original Pet Sematary. Now, the actor is set to play Jud Crandall, the unusual neighbor of the Creeds that sets off a "perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences."

Pet Sematary is set to premiere on April 5, 2019.
