Here’s How Loki Doomed The Asgardians To Extinction In Avengers: Infinity War

Loki (Tom Hiddleston)might have won the sympathy of audiences after trying to trick Thanos (Josh Brolin) so that he could save his brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the opening of Avengers: Infinity War, but the remaining Asgardians wouldn't have been put in the position in the first place if it weren't for the trickster.

Marvel fans have been pretty busy over on Reddit, debating whether or not Loki should be given that much sympathy with one fan pointing out that the Asgardian God of Mischief was the one who had actually doomed the Asgardians to death in Infinity War.

Going back to Thor: Ragnarok, one fan points out that Loki had unknowingly caused the extinction of his race when he took the Tesseract while going off to retrieve the crown of the fire demon. Had he left it in its place, Thanos wouldn't have boarded the ship that the Asgardians used to flee to earth and the race would have gone on to survive.

"Loki by taking the space stone in Thor: Ragnarok unknowingly caused the extinction of his race, if he left it there Thanos wouldn't go for their ship, therefore, the Asgardians would've lived," the post on Reddit points out accusingly.

While we know that Loki did redeem himself by trying to defend his brother and his people in Infinity War, this new post does make a pretty good point. Thanos wouldn't have killed off the Asgardians had Loki left the tesseract on Asgard before Surtur destroyed Hela (Cate Blanchett) and the entire planet of Asgard. But then again, if Loki and Asgard had survived, we wouldn't have an emotionally torn Thor in the Infinity War, and that would have taken the drama from the movie.

How do you feel about Loki after seeing Infinity War? Do you think the Asgardian redeemed himself?
