Oddly enough, Zack Snyder's longer and allegedly "better" Justice League is one of the most anticipated superhero flicks for 2020. The director has been speaking up about the extended version of the original Justice League film which launched in 2017. What do some of the actors have to say about it?
Superman himself, Henry Cavill sat down in an interview with the Happy Sad Confused Podcast. There, the actor spoke up about the extended version, saying that it's going to be better than the original.
"It's a storyteller's, it's a filmmaker's right to have that vision realized. I'm excited to see it. I'm excited to see what that vision was and how it looks. [Zack's] got the advantage of hindsight now. It's going to be even better. I just want to see a good movie or a series of movies."
Giving Snyder full control of the film does sound good in helping him make an even better version of the lackluster original. Considering that the extended version will be served as a multi-part series, there's no telling exactly what the director actually added to the film. Reports recently surfaced about Cavill being asked to return to make some reshoots as Superman. He didn't openly address the matter at the podcast. Based on what he has to say, it seems like he has been a prominent part of the team for the extended version already.
Snyder's Cut is allegedly going to feature not just cut scenes from the original. It's also going to introduce story segments. The primary focus however is on the introduction of DC's version of Thanos, Darkseid - who was only teased in the original Justice League.
By next year, Warner Bros. will have reportedly spent around $383 million in producing the film. This makes Snyder's Justice League the most expensive superhero film to date, edging out Avenger's Endgame's $365 million budget.
