Henry Cavill On Who Would Win In A Fight Between Batman, Superman, And Shazam

Shazam and Superman have a lot of similarities. Both have similar powers and have similar dispositions, though Captain Marvel often has a more boyish charm to him. Now, as fans patiently wait for Shazam! to release next year, Superman actor Henry Cavill has decided to weigh in on the debate: who would win in a fight between Superman, Shazam, and Batman?

Cavill just recently spoke with Yahoo! for his press campaign for Mission: Impossible-Fallout and during his interview with the publication, the DC Extended Universe star was asked who would win in a brawl between Batman, Superman, and Shazam.

"Well, first of all, if it's three guys fighting, Batman has a chance, because Shazam and Superman are going to focus on each other, and that's when Batman gets all his sneaky stuff in. That's when he has a chance to win, so Batman's still in this fight. Definitely still in this fight," the actor explained.

Though Cavill believes that Batman would definitely come out on top because of his ability to stay one step ahead of everyone else, the Superman star of the DCEU thinks that it's a bit more difficult to name who'd come out on top in a fight between Shazam and Superman.

"Shazam has magic, which is allegedly, comic book lore-wise, Superman's weakness, or at least he's more vulnerable to it than other things... That's a fun idea because Superman isn't just going to be beating up Shazam, he's not, and Shazam is basically a big kid, so he's not going to be beating up Superman, he's a huge fan of Superman... But Supes is quick. I think it's whoever gets the jump on the other, so it's situational," Cavill goes on.

Of course, the answers to the question could change depending on the scenario, but Cavill does have a point.

Batman definitely seems like someone who'd know how to stay in the game while the Superman and Shazam are busy going at each other. After all, the Dark Knight is a sleuth, and a great strategist.

Meanwhile, a fight between Shazam and Superman sounds a bit more tricky, not only because both have similar superpowers but because both have beaten each other in different mediums before. Shazam has beaten Superman in the comics, and vice versa. In the Justice League animated series, Superman got Shazam to turn back into Billy Batson. It really is situational, if anything.

Shazam! flies into cinemas on April 05, 2019.
