It's no secret to a lot of fans that Henry Cavill's working relationship with Warner Bros. hasn't always been a "healthy" one. For a time, it sparked speculation that he's done playing Superman in the DC Universe, something that of course would change following his jaw-dropping cameo in Black Adam.

But long before we found out about his promising DCU future, there were rumors and speculation circulating all over the internet that the Man of Steel actor was making the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For months, there have been talks regarding the British actor's rumored casting as Hyperion and Hercules. Surprisingly, he also became a top pick amongst fans to play Wolverine in the X-Men reboot. Now, the 39-year-old star is breaking his silence surrounding the potential of him becoming Hugh Jackman's replacement.

Speaking with USA Today, Cavill finally addressed the fan castings — from James Bond to Wolverine, admitting that the idea sounds flattering but he wants to commit to something he can give 100% of his time. He explains: "It is enormously flattering to read those articles that pop up about Bond all the time and who's the favorite. I enjoy that, of course. But it's all about how much time I have, and these roles need to be respected and a lot of work needs to be put into them. You can't just be jumping from iconic role to iconic role with no time to prep for them."

The idea of him playing Logan in the MCU sounds enticing and all, but I think we can all agree on where Cavill's heart truly is. And with DC Studios already developing a new Superman film headlined by him, it would be safe to assume that he's team DCU for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, details about Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot remain under wraps.
