It all started in the Asakusa Racing Kart Association, where many people witnessed an orphan named Kiruko compete against other racers at such a young age.

She was a terrific racer back then, and people adored her even more due to her stunning appearance.

Kiruko also has a strong support system, which includes her younger brother Haruki, Robin Inazaki, the talented but unnamed doctor, and the other orphan children who are always rooting for her.

She imagined she was in heaven while living at the Funayama Orphanage.

They had many memorable moments together, some of which were documented on one of the children's cameras.

Kiruko even posed with the strange doctor in a single photo, despite the latter's refusal.

But things turned sour when Kiruko encountered a man-eater (Hiruko) who killed off her younger brother in the middle of one of her crucial races.

She witnessed Haruki being assaulted to the point where half of his body was gone.

It was a terrifying sight, and Kiruko could only do so much to prevent the Man-Eater from killing her younger brother.

Fortunately, rescue arrived, and the siblings were taken to the strange doctor to be saved.

The mysterious doctor took charge and used all of his resources to save Kiruko and Haruki.

But the doctor knew he could only save one of them, so he took the difficult decision to let one of the siblings die.

Or so he thought, for Kiruko is alive thanks to her brother's brain transplant.

The mysterious doctor disappeared after the surgery, and his whereabouts were unknown, while Kiruko struggled with identity issues.

Worse, Kiruko discovered that the Asakusa Racing Kart Association had been closed down and that everyone in the Funayama Orphanage was gone.

It was a horrible disaster, and the only memories Kiruko has are of Robin Inazaki and the strange doctor, both of whom she wishes to encounter again.

There's a lot of mystery about the Asakusa doctor.

His identity is unknown, and the only things that will help someone discover him are his medical expertise and the large scar on his forehead.

The manga never revealed the reason for the doctor's scar, let alone his backstory as to why he was in Asakusa.

It was most likely because he was a traveling doctor who wanted to help as many people as he could.

Another possibility is that he is connected to the Takahara Academy; however, this is merely a hunch.

The Takahara Academy is full of feminists, and having a male doctor who is so good in his specialty is quite implausible, but we won't dismiss this notion just yet.

The doctor had been the topic of Robin's research prior to Kiruko and Haruki's accidents.

Before the incident happened, Robin told Kiruko that the doctor was involved in human trials with maneaters.

Basically, Robin depicted the doctor as a bad person in the eyes of Kiruko and Haruki.

After all, it is taboo to experiment on humans, let alone involve them with the dangerous Hiruko.

Years passed before Kiruko found Robin in one of Takahara Academy’s facilities.

It was a tearful and touching reunion at first, but things turned bitter the moment the two of them were left alone.

Kiruko had come to regret siding with Robin and trusting all of his falsehoods.

Robin, not the doctor, was the terrible one who experimented with man-eating creatures all along.

Robin merely wanted the doctor to take responsibility for all of his blunders.

He sought an escape, and the doctor, who was actually the good guy, was betrayed by the very individuals he rescued and cared for.

Kiruko was fortunate to find the doctor in his own clinic near Takahara Academy's Nara Facility.

She discovered that the doctor's name was Sakota Teruhiko, and he had been treating patients with the help of his robot assistant.

Kiruko waited a long time for her reunion with Dr. Sakota. She had many occasions when she believed she had found him, only to be disappointed.

In fact, Kiruko discovered Robin before meeting Dr. Sakota.

She also met another doctor named Usami, who was working with people who were showing signs of becoming maneaters.

Regardless, Kiruko and Dr. Sakota’s reunion was chaotic. It was not what we were expecting, as Kiruko gets electrified by Dr. Sakota’s secretary, who believes she is a bad person.

What’s more, Kiruko also had to show her entire face in front of Dr. Sakota to remind him of the past.

Of course, Dr. Sakota knew her right away, and what he revealed changed Kiruko’s known facts.

According to Dr. Sakota, Kiruko and Haruki were on the verge of dying when Robin and the others brought them to his clinic.

Haruki’s body was mangled, while Kiruko had a gunshot wound on her head.

This is contrary to Kiruko’s belief, as she thought that she was unscathed and her brother had received the most damage from the Man-Eater.

The question now is, Who shot her in the head?

It was most likely Robin Inazaki, but this is still up for question.

Now that we know who the evil guy is, there's a good likelihood he had something to do with Kiruko's injury.

If we can recall, Robin even made fun of Kiruko’s identity when the two of them had a reunion.

He enjoyed watching Kiruko in the mirror, naked, and saying the most vulgar things to hurt Kiruko.

Robin knew that Kiruko has Haruki’s brain inside of her, and he couldn’t be any happier.

He was a very sadistic guy, and Kiruko was tricked by his disguise.

Anyway, time was running out, and Dr. Sakota had no choice but to save one of them.

It was very difficult for Dr. Sakota, considering that Haruki and Kiruko have become dear to him and had become his family.

So, Dr. Sakota decided to transplant Haruki’s brain into Kiruko’s. A decision that has haunted Kiruko’s life and identity ever since she recovered.
