Hayley Atwell made her MCU return last year when she made a cameo appearance as Earth-838's Captain Carter in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The actress has been a recurring player in the franchise for years now as she played Peggy Carter in various films and TV shows including the animated What If...? where she voiced a version of Captain Carter.

Atwell's appearance as Captain Carter in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was cut short as she was killed off by Wanda Maximoff alongside the other members of the Illuminati during a memorable sequence.

However, while it was nice for fans to see her show up in live-action even for just a quick moment, it looks like the actress herself might not necessarily be fond of her appearance.

During an interview in Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast (via The Direct), Atwell discussed her thoughts surrounding her cameo appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where she called it a "frustrating moment."

She joked about how she was quickly killed off during the sequence after saying the iconic line. "I can do this all day."

"She’s like, ‘I could do this all day,’ and then followed by she’s immediately cut in half by a frisbee, and then the audience being like, ‘She can’t do it all day… Apparently, you can’t, so… Yeah, egg on your face.’ And, I’m like, 'Oh, it doesn’t really serve Peggy very well," Atwell said.

The actress also shared that she filmed her cameo in the MCU sequel after finishing her work on Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One.

"But what was really great was the coming in, and doing even those stunt things, when she does that kind of very quick run, but then sliding on my knees, and like going over backwards and I had come straight off the first time I was wrapped for Mission [Impossible] 7, because I was wrapped nine times," she said.

"And so I went straight from the set of Mission to the airport to LA, then put the outfit on, did one costume fitting, and then straight in."

She added, "And they were like, ‘Okay, this is the fight,’ and because I had been so like maintaining that level of physicality, I was able to just go like, ‘I want to do it all. Let me have a go at this.’ And sliding on my knees was just great fun."

It is understandable to hear Atwell's frustration over her cameo in the film since she is playing a kickass version of her beloved MCU character and yet she met her demise very quickly.

Who knows, perhaps the actress could still be able to play Captain Carter in live-action again in another project since it is the Multiverse Saga after all and there are more opportunities for them to explore the variant again.
