Hayden Christensen Joins Epic Anakin Skywalker Star Wars Prequel Throwback

Hayden Christensen's performance in the Star Wars prequel films might have been heavily criticized by both fans and critics, however, that doesn't mean the Star Wars actor doesn't know how to have a good time at conventions.

Appearing at the 2018 Rhode Island Comic Con last weekend (via Reddit), the Star Wars veteran had some fun poking at one of the most iconic Anakin Skywalker sequences in the franchise. Posing for a meet-and-greet photo together with one fan, Christensen couldn't help but smile at the convention attendee bringing with him a bag of sand.

The reference might be lost to casual fans of the franchise, but to those who've seen the prequels, the joke is absolutely hilarious. In The Attack of the Clones, one of the most mocked scenes is this conversation Anakin has with Padme (Natalie Portman) about sand. Griping about the soil, Anakin complains to his lover "I don't like sand! It's course and rough and irritating. It gets everywhere."

One of the poorest moments in the film's script, the line has inspired so many jokes and memes from the fanbase. Case in point, this little photo from Rhodes Comic-Con. Luckily, according to the Reddit poster, Christensen was pretty okay with the funny little stunt.

Now, with so much eagerness to embrace the Star Wars fanbase by attending conventions, fans have started wondering whether the Christensen might return in Star Wars: Episode IX. There has been a talk going about of a Force Ghost appearance, and who better to represent Anakin as a Force Ghost then good old Christensen?
