Hawkeye Star Hailee Steinfeld Says Dickinson Role Helped Her on Playing Kate Bishop

Hailee Steinfeld is set to make her MCU debut in the upcoming series Hawkeye where she will play fan-favorite character, Kate Bishop. We don't know much yet about how she will play more in the franchise after the series, but we can definitely bet that the character will have a larger role in the future and perhaps eventually become part of the Young Avengers.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Steinfeld discussed playing Kate Bishop and how her role as Emily Dickinson in the Apple TV+ series Dickinson helped her on playing the character as well as how the two roles have similar qualities.

The actress said, "I am so excited to have gone from playing a character like Emily Dickinson for the last three years -- and because I feel I've spent so much time with her in playing this very strong and determined and independent and driven female character -- going into one that has those same qualities was a very exciting thing for me. And entering the world of Kate Bishop and entering the world of the Marvel Universe has been absolutely incredible and a rollercoaster ride to say the least and I cannot wait for the show to come out."

Steinfeld might be right that Emily Dickinson and Kate Bishop have similar qualities. In Dickinson, Emily Dickinson is being portrayed as a smart, determined, and strong woman who doesn't conform with the norms of her time and, of course, a talented writer. Obviously, we haven't seen Hawkeye yet but we can tell from the trailers that Kate Bishop has similar qualities. We can see that she is also a strong and determined woman who is clearly talented when it comes to archery, but we'll find out more about her once we watch the series.

It is worth noting that November will be a huge month for Steinfeld since both the third (and final) season of Dickinson and the Hawkeye series will premiere around that period. You can also add the upcoming Netflix animated series Arcane, where she voices the lead character, which will also premiere during that month.

Hawkeye is set to premiere with two episodes on November 24 on Disney+.
