Hasbro's Star Wars Lightsaber Academy Will Train Aspiring Force Users To Be Jedi Or Sith

Have you ever wanted to wield a lightsaber and become a true Jedi or Sith? Hasbro is making your dreams come true with the Star Wars Lightsaber Academy, which will make a toy saber feel like the real thing.

The Star Wars Lightsaber Academy Interactive Training System is an innovative app-and-lightsaber-toy combo that will allow your youngling to learn the Jedi arts or the ways of the Sith (via StarWars.com). Simply download the app and choose a master to begin your training. The app will sync up to one of Hasbro's new lightsabers which will track movements to evaluate the Padawan's skills and progress. The most elegant of weapons even has its own Kyber crystal so even adults might want to get their hands on these awesome toys.

Is training not enough for you? There's a two-player option so you can reenact Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber duel in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Unfortunately, high ground is not included in this one so you'll have to figure that out on your own.

Hasbro's Michael Ballog, senior director, global brand strategy and marketing for Star Wars says that the Lightsaber Academy experience is the closest you can get to being a Jedi or Sith.

"For the lightsaber moves, they need to be true to Star Wars while also being fun, attainable, and with the right level of challenge for a kid as they progress through training and battling. We work closely with the team at Lucasfilm and Disney to ensure that each Star Wars item created meets the high expectations of the passionate community and franchise standards," Ballog said.

Star Wars Lightsaber Academy retails for $49.99 and arrives on Triple Force Friday on October 4.
