Harry Potter Reunion Special First Look Image Shows Original Trio Together Again

Fans have been looking forward to the upcoming Harry Potter reunion special as it would reunite the original cast members of the Harry Potter series to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise that began with 2001's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It would also be the first time that they will be seen together since the last film Deathly Hallows - Part 2 in 2011.

Now, HBO Max has released the first look image for the much-anticipated special titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts where we see original trio Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson together in one room and, by the looks of it, it looks like they are happy to reunite again after all these years. While it's just a first look image, a lot of Potterheads are already excited to see more of the original trio's reunion and it seems like it will be an emotional nostalgic event that will take us back to the magical time in Hogwarts. After all, the Harry Potter series was a huge hit, and it is still considered one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. The Wizarding World continues even to this day with the Fantastic Beasts prequel films.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts reunion special will be a telling of an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey throughout the Harry Potter film series. It will also celebrate its unparalleled legacy and its indelible impact on the hearts, minds, and imaginations of families and fans around the world.

Besides the original trio, the reunion special will also be joined by Harry Potter alumni such as director Chris Columbus, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Evanna Lynch, Ian Hart, Mark Williams, Robbie Coltrane, Matthew Lewis and many more. However, J.K. Rowling will not be involved.

The reunion special will premiere on HBO Max this coming New Year's Day, January 1. It will also debut on TBS and Cartoon Network in spring 2022 ahead of the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. All eight Harry Potter films are also streaming on HBO Max.
