Harry Potter Open-World RPG Footage Leaks Online, Gets Fans Excited

Aside from the movie-based tie-in games, we haven't seen much Harry Potter video games. The only current exception is Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery on mobile devices, which is a decent enough free-to-play RPG but nothing more. Fans are still waiting for something more substantial when it comes to Harry Potter video games and it looks like they won't have to wait much longer.

Users in Reddit have reported a leaked video that shows some gameplay footage of an open-world Harry Potter game for consoles. From what can be seen, it seems like the game lets players create their own characters and explore Hogwarts, which sounds like everything a fan could want in a Harry Potter console game.

From what can be seen, it looks much better than Hogwarts Mystery and could be one hell of a game when/if it comes out. We still aren't sure who the developers were/are or if the game is still in development but fans who've seen it will probably hope that we get a title and release date soon.

Sure, Hogwarts Mystery does have some of these features but it's also limited as a phone game. The fact that it's free-to-play is a sore spot for some since players that want to progress through the title will eventually have to cough up some cash. Having a console game based on the popular book series would be great and could even allow for some crossover freebies from Hogwarts Mystery.

No release date or other information was given in regards to this Harry Potter game. Here is hoping that we get more details on this exciting title soon.
