Harry Potter Actress Emma Watson Set To Replace Emma Stone In The Little Women Movie


Emma Stone was one of the very first stars attached to Greta Gerwig's film adaptation of Little Women when the film started casting its roles back in June. However, because of scheduling conflicts with the promotional run of her upcoming Fox Searchlight movie The Favourite, Stone has to back out of the film.

Now, according to Variety,Harry Potter alum and Beauty and the Beast star Emma Watson is going to take Stone's place in the Gerwig's movie. The publication's sources say that roles are still being worked out and the studio is still trying to pick out which sister Watson might be playing in the film.

For those who aren't familiar with The Little Women, the book written by Louisa May Alcott is a well-known classic. The story of Little Women focuses on the lives of four sisters – Amy, who is both dramatic and sly, Beth who is silent and shy, Joe who is pretty blunt and outspoken, and Meg, the gentle and amiable sister.

The novel has gone through quite a number of film adaptations over the year and fans are pretty excited about the Gerwig's movie which is bringing in a lot of A-list actresses like Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, and Timothee Chalamet.

Gerwig's Little Women doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
