The sequel to the Blumhouse Productions' 2017 horror film Happy Death Day is coming, and Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for it. It's called Happy Death Day 2U and apparently, it will bring back the same deja vu conflict we've seen in the first film and the baby-faced killer is back!
Jessica Rothe returns as the lead as Tree Gelbman and this time, she discovers "that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead." The trailer reveals that she will have to die multiple times to not just save herself but her friends as well. The first one was surprisingly enjoyable and it's definitely one of my favorite horror movies. I hope the sequel won't disappoint. It looks like the risks are bigger this time around.
Christopher Landon is back as writer and director, and Jason Blum as the producer for the sequel.
Happy Death Day 2U will be released in theaters on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2019.
