Hans Zimmer to Score Wonder Woman 1984

After Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Hans Zimmer was said to have retired from scoring superhero films; but it looked like he had a change of heart when he signed on to score X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Now news has it that Zimmer has another superhero movie under his belt.

As per Hans-Zimmer.com (via FilmMusicReporter), Zimmer has signed on to provide the score for Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984. The composer of the first movie was Rupert Gregson-Williams, but it's worth noting that Zimmer had a hand in making Wonder Woman's theme which was introduced in BvS first.

I'm actually happy that Zimmer has decided to come back and do superhero films because he does such a great job with them. After all, music is like 50 percent of what makes a movie great. What would Star Wars be without John Williams or Avengers minus the score of Alan Silvestri?

Hopefully with Wonder Woman 1984, Zimmer can give us some great motifs and themes. Wonder Woman's is great, but I'm waiting to see what kind of music he can give a character like Kristen Wiig's Cheetah or whoever Pedro Pascal is playing.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set for a release on Nov. 1, 2019.
