Hailee Steinfeld is no stranger to playing strong women who are not afraid to take charge. But what would happen when Kate Bishop from Hawkeye meets Gwen Stacy from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse? The Bumblebee star discussed the possibilities of what could be an epic crossover.
What Happens When Kate Bishop Meets Gwen Stacy? Hailee Steinfeld Shares Her Thoughts
Hailee Steinfeld and Across the Spider-Verse co-star Shameik Moore recently spoke to CBR where they discussed the upcoming animated sequel. However, Steinfeld was more than happy to talk about her other Marvel character.
When asked what would happen if Kate met Gwen, Steinfeld gave an enthusiastic response.
"I think it would be more [about] how would Kate handle running into Gwen," she said. "I think it all would be good and run smoothly if Kate could feel like she could be friends with Gwen."
"I feel like she'd be very excited," Steinfeld continued. "I feel like Gwen [has] kept a coolness to her that Kate doesn't have. I don't know. There are some other things that come before that."
She added, "And then if [Kate] learns how to play it cool, I think they'd get along quite well. I think they could accomplish great things together. That would be fun to see a little interaction there."
It's certainly something to think about. Although both characters are very grounded and independent, Kate still has a lot to learn about being a superhero.
Meanwhile, Gwen has been a superhero for a long time and clearly knows a thing or two about saving the world. With that in mind, Gwen might be the right person to help Kate with that.
Hailee Steinfeld first played Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018. She was later cast as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye which aired on Disney+ in 2021.
Hawkeye has not yet been renewed for a second season. In the meantime, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse will finally hit theaters on June 2, 2023.
