Hailee Steinfeld Allegedly ‘Locked’ for Hawkeye Series

A few months back it was rumored that Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld was being eyed for Disney+'s Hawkeye series, and though we have been getting sparse updates, it looked like Marvel was set on her to star. What's interesting is, we may have confirmation that Steinfeld has indeed been cast as Kate Bishop.

According to insider Daniel Richtman (via MCU Cosmic), a new casting grid for the Hawkeye series has been released, and it's been revealed that Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld have been "set" for the show—meaning that both have been locked for their roles.

We have yet to get any official updates from Marvel or Steinfeld, but with the news of She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel getting cast, it would only be a matter of time before we get confirmation on the MCU's next iteration of Hawkeye.

Should Steinfeld get cast, she would probably be the most popular actress to star in a Disney+ series. While She-Hulk's Tatiana Maslany already has a small TV career, Ms. Marvel's Iman Vellani is still an industry newcomer. Steinfeld, on the other hand, has been on the big screen since True Grit, and she had recently been the face of a blockbuster franchise.

My guess is Hawkeye will just be another miniseries, and we should expect Steinfeld to make future appearances as Kate Bishop on the big screen. Then again, this is just speculation on my part. Hopefully, Marvel gives an official update soon.

Hawkeye is expected to come out sometime in the fall of 2021. The first Marvel mini-series, WandaVision, hits Disney+ before 2020 ends.
