After a three-month wait, the new Gundam anime is back with its second season. And while the first episode isn’t the most action-packed, fans were impressed by Gundam: Witch from Mercury Season 2 and its gorgeous ending.
As this is considered a new season, The Witch from Mercury features new opening and ending themes by two popular Japanese artists, and these are accompanied by eye-catching visuals.
While the new season’s ending got lots of reactions, the episode’s story and characters also prompted lots of interesting responses from fans.
The Witch from Mercury Season 2’s First Episode Reactions
It’s fair to say that the first season’s shocking finale is still fresh in the minds of fans given how brutal it is.
Though interestingly, the new season doesn’t pick up directly from there. It doesn’t even see any interactions between Suletta and Miorine. However, the new episode did feature some interesting characters.
Specifically, the Dawn of Fold’s Norea and Sophie are now in Asticassia and are posing as new members of Earth House.
Their appearance in the first episode drew lots of reactions, with many wondering what will happen next given how close they are now to Suletta.
Along with these character-focused developments, the new episode also showed several new Mobile Suits, albeit only briefly.
Despite their short appearances, we’ll likely see these Mobile Suits get Gunpla kits soon.
Overall, fans are happy with the series’ return. While it may not be as action-packed as the preceding episodes, this Season 2 opener does set up some interesting events moving forward.

Fans Are Loving the Gundam: Witch from Mercury Season 2 Ending
Suletta and Miorine may not have been together during the new episode, but fans were treated to some gorgeous animated sequences of the two in the new season’s ending credits.
Specifically, the new ED features some artistic scenes of Suletta and Miorine in fancy dresses, and many fans were delighted to see these.
The ending implies that their relationship will be explored more as the season progresses.
The new ending also features the song, [red:birthmark], by AiNA THE END which many believe is a perfect fit for the new credits' sequence.
Along with the new ending, the anime also has a new opening song titled slash by yama, the singer of Spy x Family Part 2’s ending.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Season 2 continues with Episode 2 which will be released on Crunchyroll on April 16.
