Gundam Build Metaverse Gets October Release Date

With the end of Witch from Mercury back in July, Gundam fans have been hungry for more. Finally, a new Gundam anime is coming as Gundam Build Metaverse announced its October release date.

This won’t be a full-fledged Gundam anime entry though, as it’s a short web series composed of only three episodes.

Still, it should be a treat for franchise fans, especially for fans of the Gundam Build shows. That’s because this new anime is being released to celebrate the Build anniversary.

Gundam Is Getting a New Three-Episode Anime to Celebrate Build Anniversary

Since the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime, Gundam has become the biggest mecha franchise in the world. Not only does it have numerous anime entries, but it also has a wide array of games, model kits, and more.

Among these spinoff projects is Gundam Build, an anime series that’s specifically based on the Gunpla line of model kits.

This series started in 2013 with the Gundam Build Fighters anime, and it was soon followed up by more anime entries. There are even manga and light novel spinoffs for it.

With the original anime’s 10th anniversary coming soon, the special web anime Gundam Build Metaverse was revealed. It got a new trailer recently, which you can watch here:

Metaverse is a unique entry into the Build series as it features a metaverse element – think of it like a virtual reality space where users can engage in Gundam battles.

Aside from being made for the Build anniversary, the anime is also part of the Gundam Metaverse Project which has games, music, and other initiatives.

Gundam Build Metaverse Reveals October Release Date

Ahead of the show’s release, it was revealed that the main character, Rio Hojo, will be voiced by Chika Anzai. Anime fans know Anzai best for voicing Chisato Nishikigi in Lycoris Recoil and Chisa Kotegawa in Grand Blue.

Joining Anzai is Rio Tsuchiya who plays Seria Urutsuki. Tsuchiya is best known for voicing Ranka in SSSS.Dynazenon and Yukari Tsubaki in Loving Yamada at Lv999.

Gundam Build Metaverse will feature three episodes, and the first will premiere on October 6, 2023. The next two episodes will then be released on October 20, 2023.

All three episodes of this anime will be released for free on the official GUNDAM.INFO YouTube channel. It is expected that the series will be available worldwide there.
