We already know that Gamora will be back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 but she isn't the same Gamora we have come to know and love. Still, Karen Gillan says that Nebula's relationship with the new version of her sister is different yet somehow familiar.
In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos sacrificed Gamora to possess the Soul Stone. However, she was brought back in Avengers: Endgame after the heroes went back in time and encountered the character in an older timeline.
The new Gamora somehow trusted Nebula and they are set to reunite in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Karen Gillan recently spoke to Comicbook.com ahead of the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and she discussed the new dynamic between Nebula and Gamora.
"It's kind of like we switched places in a weird way because Nebula is the more evolved, compassionate one out of the two of them," Gillan said. She then pointed out that she enjoys the new Gamora since she is more like the character when she was introduced in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film.
"I actually love this version of Gamora. She's so badass, doesn't take any prisoners and is aggressive and fun. We just played around with that dynamic and developed a fun way of greeting each other, which you'll see when you see the film," Gillan said.
It's an interesting tease and we can't wait to see how Nebula and Gamora work together in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
The third Guardians of the Galaxy film will also bring back Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova, and Sylvester Stallone. Chukwudi Iwuji and Will Poulter are confirmed to join the cast.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will premiere in theaters on May 5, 2023.
