Following Disney's acquisition of Fox, fans have been anticipating for X-Men or Fantastic Four characters to make their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Which is why when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn allegedly revealed that Galactus and Silver Surfer might make an appearance in the threequel, fans we're all for it. However, it looks like they would have to wait a bit longer for that to happen.

Taking to Instagram, Gunn shared a screenshot of the post which shows that a fan asked him on whether the said two characters will be making an appearance in his upcoming Marvel movie, with Gunn replying that he's had discussions with the studio. However, he posted the image to let his followers know that the screenshot is fake and that he neither answered nor delete the said Instagram Story.

The alleged deleted story was edited and has been going around on a few fan sites and news outlets, so the director publicly denied the screenshot. That being said, Gunn's clarification didn't come as a surprise since he has been answering the fans' questions with vague or short responses so as to avoid any spoilers as much as possible. In addition, he wouldn't just possibly say something with as big of a reveal as the characters' appearances.

Although it was fake news, fans were certainly looking forward to Galactus and Silver Surfer in the movie. Regardless, they are still excited about Gunn's plans on the GOTG sequel.
