Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Director James Gunn Admits He Loves Star Wars Holiday Special

We already know that the script for the Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special is now finished. But how does James Gunn truly feel about the project that inspired it? The Suicide Squad director has just admitted that he enjoyed the Star Wars Holiday Special when he was growing up.

Gunn took to his official Twitter account to share his thoughts on the Star Wars Holiday Special, admitting that he truly enjoyed it when he was a child.

"For the record, I unironically liked the Star Wars Holiday Special when it first aired when I was a kid. Especially the Boba Fett stuff. Sure, I was confused, but it was all the Star Wars I was gonna get that year & I ate it up," Gunn wrote.

There is little doubt that every kid who got to see the Holiday Special when it first came out absolutely loved it. With that in mind, it's no surprise that Gunn adored the TV special.

We're already hyped up for Gunn's several projects including the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. We already know that The Suicide Squad is set to premiere later this year and Gunn is finishing work on the spin-off series Peacemaker. In addition to the Holiday Special, the filmmaker will also direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

For now, both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special have not yet been given official release dates. In the meantime, The Suicide Squad is set to premiere in selected theaters and on HBO Max on August 6, 2021.
