Former WWE superstar Dave Bautista is one of the few wrestlers who successfully crossed over from the squared circle to Hollywood and so far, his acting career has been nothing short of amazing. Currently, Big Dave aka "Batista" is enjoying his time as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but he's also expressed his interest in jumping ship to DC to play a specific character.

The Guardians of the Galaxy actor has actually been lobbying for years to play the iconic DC villain and arguably one of Batman's deadliest foes Bane. In fact, he's been vocal about it on social media but as it stands, he's still yet to get a call from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC.

However, a new rumor suggests that Bautista is now in serious talks with WB to potentially portray his dream comic book role. According to an exclusive scoop from the good folks over at Giant Freakin' Robot, the multiple-time WWE champion is being eyed by the production company to play Bane in a future Batman project.

We're not quite sure which Batman his potential version of Bane could go up against but considering Ben Affleck is rumored to be on his way out of the DCEU after The Flash, Robert Pattinson will most likely be the caped crusader he'll end up decimating. I'm not saying I know better but if we can get a proper live-action Knightfall film, that would be great.

I personally believe that Bane is a role Batista was meant to play from the start, and sure, although he's not actually Hispanic, he still gets one aspect about the Bane character right: he has that luchador/wrestler look the villain has always been associated with. I'm totally excited about the possibilities.

Meanwhile, The Batman is scheduled for release in 2022.
