From Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) Alzheimer’s to Teddy’s (Kim Raver) collapse, three major plots may be discussed in the new season.
Meredith may have taken a step back in Season 19, but her shocking revelations will surely be expanded on Grey’s Anatomy Season 20. Of course, the new interns will still be heavily featured, along with other storylines that must be developed.
Meredith’s Alzheimer’s
In a list made by Screen Rant, it topped the next season’s possible storylines with Meredith’s Alzheimer’s.
The former surgery chief sent a cryptic text to her mentors, Richard (James Pickens Jr.) and Bailey (Chandra Wilson), Nick (Scott Speedman), and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone).
It made them worried after learning about the state she was in.

Meredith’s possible Alzheimer’s will play a major role in Grey’s Anatomy Season 20, especially her mom, Ellis, had it.
Zola (Aniela Gumbs) also started to have anxiety, worrying about Alzheime’s potentially affecting Meredith.
In addition, when Meredith told the Fox Foundation’s investors about her hunch on Alzheimer’s research focusing on the wrong things would put her career and reputation at risk and jeopardize her study’s funding.
Sam’s Death to Put the Interns in Difficult Positions
Lucas (Niko Terho) and Simone (Alexis Floyd) cut into Sam (Sam Sutton) without an attending present had broken all the rules.
Despite their effort, Sam could have still died without the operation, which they badly tried to avoid.

However, Sam’s death might still complicate Lucas and Simone’s punishment that they had to face in Grey’s Anatomy Season 20, putting them in difficult positions.
The Reason Behind Teddy’s Collapse
Raver will surely return in Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 to reprise her role as Teddy, and her character’s collapse in the operating room will be explored.
The Season 19 finale became more intense, with Sam bleeding out on the table while the interns tried to operate on him without Teddy’s supervision after she collapsed.
Considering she has been a major part of the series since Season 6, a lot has been worrying about her condition.
