Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist Pay Tribute to Stephen Amell's Arrowverse Legacy

There is little doubt that Arrow paved the way for several DC shows like The Flash and Supergirl. So it's no surprise that Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist are paying tribute to Arrow star Stephen Amell now that the beloved Arrowverse show is coming to an end.

Gustin and Benoist recently spoke to TV Guide where they said their fond farewells to Oliver Queen and Arrow. Interestingly, both actors credited Amell for the success of Arrowverse.

"Stephen started all of this," Benoist said of her Crisis on Infinite Earths co-star. "And the legacy he's leaving is pretty incredible. You know, we almost have our own Justice League on television, and the universe is massive and he was always at the helm. So it'll be different without him and an adjustment without him there and without all the Arrow people there."

Amell's long-time friend and former Arrow co-star Gustin was also quick to point out that the actor was an inspiration to him.

"Stephen's always been so great to me, personally, and to just the world as a whole," Gustin said. "He's definitely been the leader of the Arrowverse, and I don't want to have to take up that place. They'll be missed."

It's awesome to know that both Benoist and Gustin truly look up to Amell as well as the rest of the cast and crew of Arrow. Needless to say, the upcoming finale is going to be a truly emotional one.

The Arrow series finale will air on The CW on January 28.
