Good Riddance Michael Bay, Bumblebee Gets Huge Rotten Tomatoes Score

The curse put upon by Michael Bay has been broken; we finally have a GOOD Transformers movie and all you had to do was focus on a likable Autobot and human, who would have thought? In all seriousness, the only "good" Bay Transformers movies are the first one and maybe the third installment but it seems like they all pale in comparison when compared to Bumblebee.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, Bumblebee has a rating of 95% after 21 critics, which is still pretty impressive. This is the highest score a Transformers film has reached, though it isn't "certified" yet. We will have to wait for more reviews to come in for a more official score but this is far from a bad starting point.

Fans were hoping that this movie would break the mold that Michael Bay's Transformers movies stagnated on. Since the first one, these films have taken a dive in quality and none of them can ever be considered "good" films, though they still make money. Now that Bumblebee is a critical success, here is hoping that any future installments are more character-focused like this one.

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Bumblebee comes out on December 21.
