Crowley and Aziraphale are back for another adventure in Good Omens Season 2, but will it be the last? Will there be a Season 3 of Good Omens?

Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger, and fans want more. Even producer Sarah-Kate Fenelon thinks that “people will be very unhappy if that's where it stops… They'll be heartbroken” (via RadioTimes).

So, are we getting another season of Good Omens? Here’s what we know.

As of writing, Good Omens has not yet been renewed for a third season. However, Neil Gaiman himself revealed that “Season 3 is all planned and plotted.”

Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett planned out a sequel to the Good Omens novel, though they didn’t get a chance to write it before Pratchett’s death.

While some thought that the second season will be based on the planned sequel, Gaiman said that it is Good Omens Season 3 that would be based on such.

The second season of Good Omens served as a bridge to the planned sequel, which is what Season 3 would be based on. In an interview with SFX magazine (via GamesRadar), Gaiman said:

"Because the hypothetical season three exists, there is a story that is there, and I didn’t feel that we could drive straight from season one into that."

Additionally, speaking to fans on Tumblr, Gaiman said that Season 3 will not be confirmed “unless enough people watch Season 2 to make Amazon happy.”

Gaiman added that strike season makes everything harder and that if he wasn’t on strike, he would be writing.

Gaiman also revealed some ways to make Good Omens Season 3 happen:

So, for now, we could hope for Good Omens Season 3 to happen, especially considering that cliffhanger ending and the fact that there’s already a hypothetical third season.

According to Gaiman, if they would start shooting in 2024, Season 3 would probably be released in early 2026.

Additionally, it is worth noting that Season 1 came out four years prior to Season 2. So, it might take four years until Season 3 would come out.

Delays could also be expected considering the writer and actor strikes. So, if Good Omens does get renewed, the third season may not come anytime soon.

Despite their kiss, Aziraphale and Crowley part ways at the end of Good Omens Season 2. Aziraphale chooses to go back to Heaven and become the Supreme Archangel, while Crowley chooses to stay on Earth.

Clearly, Good Omens Season 3 would see Aziraphale taking on his new position and preparing the Second Coming.

We can also expect to see Shax in her new role in Hell and Muriel taking over Aziraphale’s bookshop.

The next season could also show us how Aziraphale and Crowley would get back together again.

After all, in the two seasons of Good Omens, Crowley and Aziraphale always find themselves teaming up. So, we can expect another team-up in Good Omens Season 3.

The ending of Good Omens Season 2 opens a door for a third season, so we just have to wait for official announcements.
