After 26 years, the cult favorite skit from All That is back. One common question that viewers asked about the sequel is who was Good Burger 2 narrator.
Although the narration doesn't really last long, it was a notable moment for avid fans of the sketch. And you'll actually be surprised to know who was behind the Good Burger 2 narrator voice.
Good Burger 2 Narrator: Who is the Narrator?
The scene where you can hear the narrator's voice in Good Burger 2 happens when Dexter Reed (played by Kenan Thompson) is told that he's out of business.
While this was a very short scene, it holds a memorable spot in the film. After all, the voice belongs to one key character from the original movie: Sinbad.
What Was Sinbad's Role in the Original Movie?
Sinbad previously starred in the 1997 movie as Dexter's high school teacher, Mr. Wheat. This role was pivotal to Dexter's path in working at Good Burger.
In the movie, it was revealed that Dexter crashed into Mr. Wheat's vehicle. As a result of this, Dexter had to take a job at the fast food joint to be able to pay for the damage he caused.
Why Wasn't Sinbad Included in the Film?
Given Sinbad's importance to the skit, it doesn't make sense not to include him in Good Burger 2. Crediting him as the voice behind Good Burger 2's narrator isn't too bad.
This is because his cameo in the film was actually a backup plan. The original plan was to have Dexter crash his car into Sinbad's character's car once again.
Unfortunately, Sinbad was unable to make it to Rhode Island, where the cast and crew were filming Good Burger 2. Since the actor suffered a stroke in 2020, he has been taking things slow. As a matter of fact, he only recently returned to acting in a brief cameo in Atlanta Season 4.
In an interview with /Film, Good Burger 2's director, Phil Traill, explained what was supposed to be Sinbad's scene in the sequel. He also shared that "it was great to be able to have him in it, and he was really stoked to be in it. He really enjoyed it."
But this doesn't seem to be the end of Sinbad's role in Good Burger. In an interview with Radio Times, Traill shared that they are already in early talks to make Good Burger 3.
The director revealed that several other actors had expressed their interest to appear in the third installment. Traill says:
"We had lots of people who wanted to be in the movie and lots didn't work out because of dates. So hopefully they can come back in Good Burger 3."
Hopefully, it doesn't take another 26 years to make the third movie.
